Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For added security, your ClinicOffice database can optionally be protected with two-factor authentication (2FA). You can choose whether to implement this with SMS messages or via an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator).

Once your ClinicOffice database has been configured with two-factor authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app, the next step is to make sure you have an authenticator app on your mobile device.

We recommend Google Authenticator (although you can use many others like Microsoft Authenticator, Twilio Authy).

It depends what kind of device you are using – please click the appropriate one below…

If you have an iPhone, search the App Store for “Google Authenticator“. Alternatively, scan the QR code below…

For an Android phone, search the Play Store for “Google Authenticator“. Alternatively, scan the QR code below…

(2) Linking Google Authenticator with ClinicOffice

The following only has to be done once to link your app with ClinicOffice.

  • [1] ClinicOffice prompts you to configure 2FA.
  • [2] Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone.
  • [3] Tap ‘Get Started’.
  • [4] Tap ‘Scan QR Code’.
  • [5] Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the screen.
  • [6] Your phone will generate a code.
  • [7] Enter the 6-digit code from your phone into ClinicOffice.

Congratulations! You have now linked Google Authenticator on your phone with ClinicOffice.

In future, when asked to authenticate in ClinicOffice simply open Google Authenticator on your phone and enter the code into ClinicOffice.

  • Step 1

    ClinicOffice prompts you to configure 2FA.

  • Step 2

    Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone.

  • Step 3

    Tap ‘Get Started’.

  • Step 4

    Tap ‘Scan QR Code’

  • Step 5

    Your phone will generate a code.

  • Step 6

    You have now registered ClinicOffice on your authenticator app! Your phone will generate a code.

  • Step 7

    Enter the 6-digit code from your phone into ClinicOffice.
