FAQ 373: How to configure my Yahoo account for ClinicOffice

To allow your Yahoo account to work with ClinicOffice you will need to create what is known as an “App Password”. This is a unique 16 digit password that will allow a 3rd party application such as ClinicOffice to send emails via your Yahoo account. You can revoke this at any time. The steps below will explain how you can enable this.

1. Sign in and go to your Account security page
2. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords
3. Select Outlook Desktop from the drop-down menu and click Generate
4. Copy this password and paste it into ClinicOffice where it is asking for the Yahoo email password
5. You can click the Test Email button to make sure it is working in ClinicOffice
6. Click Done

You will note that in the above steps we suggest to select Outlook Desktop, this is purely because ClinicOffice works in a similar fashion to Outlook as a desktop email application.
