    Hi there,

    We are in the process of setting up our Clinic Office software.

    We will be running our clinics in the evening.

    I want to be able to allow a member of staff to edit a particular practitioner’s clinic times if for example that practitioner is on holiday.

    This way our receptionists would be aware not to book any appointments in on that day.

    Unfortunately, when you change the clinic times, that action is carried over on to every week. For example if on a Thursday one practitioner is not in the office, but then next they are; you remove their clinic from the Thursday in their working hours and the change is applied to every Thursday as a result.

    Is there a way around this problem? I have already suggested to one of the senior partners here we could create an appointment type to show a practitioner will be away. This suggestion did not go down well. Having thought further about it, I’m sure there must be a solution, I just can’t see it for myself.

    This is where the “Quick Appointment” feature comes in handy. Simply select the whole day when the practitioner is away (e.g. click 08:00am and drag down to 08:00pm) and then press the space bar.

    Type in a description (e.g. “Holiday”) and press Enter. You can now double click the appointment and set some recurrence, for example, ‘repeat every day for 7 days’.

    This process allows you to block off a holiday in the diary.
