Known Parallels Client Issue
Following a recent update to Parallels Client, a number of MAC users are experiencing problems connecting to Windows servers (blank screens / screen corruption etc.)
The good news is you can use a different remote desktop program to connect instead. The one we recommend is “Microsoft Remote Desktop” **Please note this requires MAC OS 10.13 or higher.**
Apple Store link: Microsoft Remote Desktop
Please click the above link to install Microsft Remote Desktop on your MAC. After installing it, run the program and click to “Add a new PC/Connection”.
The connection details you need to enter are exactly the same as you entered into Parallels Client, with one exception: there is no option to enter a port number. Instead, you need to enter this after server name with a colon. For example:
iomartX.clinicoffice.co.uk:13344
If you aren’t sure how to do the above, or you’re struggling to setup the connection, please don’t worry. Just get Microsoft Remote Desktop installed and ready, and then give our support desk a call on 01205 205500 (option 2)
