Recently changed some computers on the network and renamed them which SBS 2003 seems to take issue with…
The main office computer was locked out of the network on a trust issue.. the re-establish trust I needed to log straight onto the computer (not the network) and reconnect the computer.
Here is where the problem started I had forgotten the administrators password…
This would normally mean a re-instal but I found a 20 quid programme of the net which goes in and deletes the administrators password… http://www.password-changer.com
saved me 6hrs work…
So two valuable lessons were learned…
1. Write down you Passwords and put them in a safe
2. Dont mess about with a perfectly functioning server…Colm
