Unable to update,

Trying to install the latest update, the pc with the database was fine, but the other Pc link by wired network says, Clinic V5 appears to running on this computer and can not be updated, yet the program isn’t running, it gives me the option to cancel. It will now not give me the login screen or open,

Any ideas please
